WATCH: New Fitzpatrick TV Ad Focuses on Fight Against Opioid Epidemic
DOYLESTOWN, PA – Brian Fitzpatrick, former FBI special agent and current candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s Eighth District, released his second television advertisement of the general election Monday. The advertisement, entitled “Fastball,” focuses on the need for action to address the epidemic of heroin and opioid abuse and highlights Fitzpatrick’s background as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney who prosecuted drug crimes.
“From his experience as a federal prosecutor putting drug dealers behind bars, to serving as a Pennsylvania-certified Emergency Medical Technician who understands the human impact of this devastating epidemic, Brian Fitzpatrick knows Washington needs to do more to fight back against opioid addiction and prescription drug abuse in our communities,” said Aaron Clark, Fitzpatrick campaign spokesman. “Drug addiction doesn’t care about ideological affiliation or partisan politics – this is an issue that must transcend election year gimmicks. Brian Fitzpatrick is the only candidate ready, on day one, to work on this issue from all three sides: Education, enforcement and recovery.”
Brian Fitzpatrick, a Levittown native and certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), has made the battle against opioid addiction a major piece of his campaign. He was supportive of the passage of theComprehensive Addiction Recovery Act (CARA) and has highlighted Recovery Homes in Bucks and Montgomery counties as an area for local, state and federal collaboration. Last week, Brian was endorsed by the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) for his commitment to addressing drug addiction and keeping our communities safe.

BACKGROUND ON BRIAN:
After being born and raised in Levittown, Brian Fitzpatrick spent nearly a decade and a half serving as a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Supervisory Special Agent where his focus was fighting political corruption and supporting global counter terrorism efforts – including as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as the National Director for the FBI’s Campaign Finance and Election Crimes Enforcement Program, as well as a national supervisor for the FBI’s Political Corruption Unit. For his work, Fitzpatrick was an inaugural recipient of the FBI Director’s Leadership Award and named “Investigator of the Year” by the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation. Additionally, as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Fitzpatrick, prosecuted violent drug and gun offenders to stem the tide of abuse and violence.
