RELEASE: Fitzpatrick Statement on FBI’s Reopening of Clinton Email Case

DOYLESTOWN, PABrian Fitzpatrick, former FBI special agent and federal prosecutor, released the following statement Friday regarding news that the Federal Bureau of Investigation would be reopening their investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails and private server:
“I applaud the FBI and Director Comey for their commitment to seeking the truth for the American people and reopening this important investigation in light of new information. One thing is clear: this was more than a ‘mistake as my opponent, Steve Santarsiero, has called it in an effort to downplay the situation for political gain while repeatedly refusing to criticize Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified documents. As Americans, we deserve the facts regarding this case against Secretary Clinton because of its importance, not only to this election, but to our national security.
As an agent with the Bureau, I put the pursuit of truth and defense of our country before all else, including partisan politics. That’s the standard I’ll take with me to Congress, and I’ll never be afraid of taking an independent stand.”
After being born and raised in Levittown, Brian Fitzpatrick spent nearly a decade and a half serving as a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Supervisory Special Agent where his focus was fighting political corruption and supporting global counter terrorism efforts – including as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as the National Director for the FBI’s Campaign Finance and Election Crimes Enforcement Program, as well as a national supervisor for the FBI’s Political Corruption Unit. For his work, Fitzpatrick was an inaugural recipient of the FBI Director’s Leadership Award. Additionally, as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Fitzpatrick, prosecuted violent drug and gun offenders to stem the tide of abuse and violence. Brian Fitzpatrick is a Certified Public Accountant, certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and an Eagle Scout.
