SEIU Endorsement of Fitzpatrick Sends Clear Message in PA-01

Union Representing Harvie’s County Employees Chooses Fitzpatrick

Bucks County, PA— The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Pennsylvania State Council has formally endorsed Brian Fitzpatrick for re-election, delivering one of the clearest statements yet in the race for Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District.

SEIU Local 668 represents roughly 500 employees across Bucks County government—including workers in 911, Children and Youth Services, the Area Agency on Aging, information technology, and other essential agencies. That government is overseen by the Board of Commissioners, where Bob Harvie serves as vice chair.

“We are proud to endorse Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick because he understands what working families are up against—and he has proven he is willing to stand with them,” said Matt Yarnell, President of SEIU PA State Council and President of SEIU Healthcare PA. “Brian does not just talk about supporting working people—he shows up, listens, and works across party lines to deliver for them. He has shown a consistent commitment standing with our workers, protecting essential services, defending lifesaving healthcare, and standing up for the rights and dignity of our immigrant members, neighbors, and communities. At a time when special interests have too much influence, we know Brian will continue to hold them accountable and prioritize the needs of working families and our unions.”

“The people closest to the work are often the clearest judges of leadership, which is why the support of SEIU members carries such extraordinary significance,” said Fitzpatrick. “Every day, these men and women answer calls in moments of crisis, protect vulnerable children, care for older neighbors, and make certain the services our families depend on are there when they need them. Their work is indispensable, and must never be taken for granted. We have built a real partnership, grounded in mutual respect and strengthened through the fights we have taken on together for fair pay, safe staffing, affordable healthcare, collective bargaining rights, and stronger public services. I am honored by their trust, and will always fight for them, stand beside them, and ensure the people our community depends on can depend on us in return.”

SEIU’s endorsement delivers a consequential verdict from the employees who know Bucks County government from the inside—and further strengthens Fitzpatrick’s historic labor coalition, which now includes the AFL-CIO and more than 40 labor organizations. Their support reflects years of genuine partnership, trust, and Fitzpatrick’s consistent record of working across party lines to protect workers, strengthen essential services, and deliver for working families across PA-01.
