PA AFL-CIO Endorses Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick
Only Republican Congressional candidate to be endorsed in PA
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Brian Fitzpatrick is the only Republican Congressional candidate to be endorsed by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, the largest federation of unions in Pennsylvania that represents more than 900,000 hardworking Pennsylvanians. In announcing their endorsement, the president of the AFL-CIO, Rick Bloomingdale, said “We proudly endorse candidates that support working people’s rights to join a union, earn a living wage and retire with dignity.”
“Receiving this endorsement is truly an honor because it solidifies what I strive so hard to do each day: represent the working families of Bucks and Montgomery counties as an independent voice, concerned more for their welfare than partisan labels. I plan to continue to support policies that are in the best interest of local workers and their families; policies that result in more jobs, higher wages and secure benefits,” said Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick.
Brian has worked hard to represent the middle-class families of Bucks and Montgomery counties. The AFL-CIO knows that we need Fitzpatrick, a hometown representative, advocating for our middle-class families and not an out-of-touch multi-millionaire. The Fitzpatrick campaign is very honored to receive this endorsement and Rep. Fitzpatrick looks forward to his continued representation of the people of Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Announces Endorsements in the 2018 General Election
(HARRISBURG) – The Executive Council of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO convened on June 14th to issue endorsements ahead of November’s General Election. To secure the endorsement of the state federation, the candidate must receive an affirmative vote of more than two-thirds.
“The Labor movement is filled with grassroots activists from all walks of life and backgrounds. Union members understand their responsibilities as citizens and voters. Their unions take great care to evaluate the positions of political candidates based on the issues that affect working people in their everyday lives. We proudly endorse candidates that support working people’s rights to join a union, earn a living wage and retire with dignity”, stated President Rick Bloomingdale.
Secretary-Treasurer Frank Snyder added, “The candidates on our slate have a passionate message of support for unions across our Commonwealth. We are communicating with members every day to emphasize the need for working class fighters in Harrisburg and Washington. We are going to fight for our economic rights and the candidates who support unions.”
Based on recommendations from Central Labor Councils across the state and with input from the federation’s 51 affiliate unions, the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has endorsed the following pro-worker candidates in the Gubernatorial, U.S. Senate, Congressional, State Senate and State House races.
